“Conquered It All” – EP Release Night – Be there!

30 Aug

Image

Hey friends! We are fast approaching the release night for our EP, Conquered It All. I couldn’t be more excited about introducing these songs to our church and our community.

Here is what I am asking of you, our faithful blog readers.

1. Come on the Frisco East Campus on September 8th at 7pm. It is going to be a great night of worship and it will be your first chance to get a copy of the album. We are selling them for $7 and we have a limited quantity!

2. Invite a friend or neighbor. This is the perfect opportunity to invite someone who is disconnected from God or the Church.

3. Buy an extra copy for a co-worker, family member, neighbor, or random person. These songs are full of truth about Jesus and His love for us that cannot be stopped. This is just another tool that we can use to share the Gospel with people far from God.

Thank you for your support!

P.S. Right now, the album is not on iTunes or any other stores. You guys are the first to get your hands on it!

Worship Set List- August 24th & 25th

27 Aug

This past weekend we did one of our new Hope Originals called “Give Me Jesus.” This song is one of the songs on our brand new EP called “Conquered it All” and we couldn’t be more excited about it! We’re having a release and worship night on September 8th at the Frisco East Campus where the music will be available. Join with us in praying that these songs will reach not only the people of our church but anyone who could hear the love and hope of Jesus through song. Music has a way of conveying what words alone can’t say and we pray these songs would be songs of truth and revelation.

Frisco Campus Set List:

Give Me Jesus- Hope Original

Lord I offer you my life
I present it as a living sacrifice
Ah, I delight in you

It was mercy from the start
Made me holy and set my life apart
Ah, I delight in you

Forever you are
The treasure of my heart

You can take all the money in the world
You can take my pride till I have no more
Just give me Jesus
Just give me Jesus
I don’t need praise from the lips of man
I don’t want to live just to chase the wind
Just give me Jesus
Just give me Jesus

Keep me humble, keep me true
Help me honor you in everything I do
Ah, I delight in you

You can had it all
You can have it all
You can have it all
Just give me Jesus

GOD, SCIENCE & WEIGHTY WORDS

22 Aug

Scientists say that once sound is made it never stops moving.  It endlessly roams throughout the galaxies never to find its final destination.  A group of Scientists at NASA also state that if you cross noise frequencies a certain way it can make matter disappear completely from existence, so in theory if you reversed the process you could potentially create matter (we have yet to do the latter).  Think about the beginning of these passages of scripture From Genesis 1 with that in mind…

3And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.

6And God said, “Let there be a vault between the waters to separate water from water

9And God said, “Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear.”

11Then God said, “Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds.”

14And God said, “Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years, 15and let them be lights in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth.”

20And God said, “Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the vault of the sky.”

24And God said, “Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: the livestock, the creatures that move along the ground, and the wild animals, each according to its kind.”

26Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

God spoke, and it was.  Or maybe, God crossed noise frequencies, and it was?  However He created all that is, one thing is certain, there is something powerful and mysterious about God’s voice.

Psalm 29: 3-9

3The voice of the Lord is over the waters;

the God of glory thunders,

the Lord thunders over the mighty waters.

4The voice of the Lord is powerful;

the voice of the Lord is majestic.

5The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars;

the Lord breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon.

6He makes Lebanon leap like a calf,

Sirion like a young wild ox.

7The voice of the Lord strikes

with flashes of lightning.

8The voice of the Lord shakes the desert;

the Lord shakes the Desert of Kadesh.

9The voice of the Lord twists the oaks

and strips the forests bare.

And in his temple all cry, “Glory!”

WOW!!! And there are tons more passages throughout scripture just like this one, exclaiming the mighty power of God’s voice.

But what if we turned the attention towards ourselves?

Our Voices and words are obviously not comparable to the powerful Glory and wonder of God’s voice.

But what if he gave them some measure of power?

Some measure of eternal significance.

Proverbs 18: 21

21The tongue has the power of life and death,

and those who love it will eat its fruit.

Ephesians 4:29

29Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.

Proverbs 15: 4

4The soothing tongue is a tree of life,

but a perverse tongue crushes the spirit.

Proverbs 12:18

18The words of the reckless pierce like swords,

but the tongue of the wise brings healing.

Matthew 12: 36 & 37

36But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken. 37For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.”

James 3: 4-12

4Or take ships as an example. Although they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are steered by a very small rudder wherever the pilot wants to go. 5Likewise, the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. 6The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course of one’s life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell. 7All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles and sea creatures are being tamed and have been tamed by mankind, 8but no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison. 9With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse human beings, who have been made in God’s likeness. 10Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be. 11Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring? 12My brothers and sisters, can a fig tree bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Neither can a salt spring produce fresh water.

–     James 3: 3-12

What comes out of our mouths is of great importance.  We must learn by the grace of God to tame our tongues.  To offer even our words as a living sacrifice to our God.  Think about how many times we complain or gossip.  How much of what we say is worth saying?

Traveling endlessly throughout the galaxies, If our words bear this power and weight to them than I want to always speak words of life.  Words that proclaim God’s work of redemption and a renewed mind.  Words of purpose.

Ill leave you with these passages of scripture

James 1: 26

26Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless.

Psalm 19: 14

14May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart

be pleasing in your sight,

Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.

Amen.

“The delight is incomplete until it is expressed.”

15 Aug

I recently heard a quote that I can’t get out of my head and that has opened my eyes to some of our human instincts.

“The delight is incomplete until it is expressed.”

Think about it. Your delight is incomplete until it is expressed. Why do we feel like we have to show the instagram or twitter world how amazing something is in our life? Because our delight is incomplete until it is expressed. When we don’t share and don’t express our delight it feels like we’re hindering the full joy of that delight. Now, I know I have to be careful using the twitter or instagram analogy because it is so easy to get caught up in the narcissistic culture it can so easily turn into if we’re not careful. But that’s another blog for another day!

Maybe anther example would be how much you love your kids, your husband, your wife, or mom or friend, etc. And you know they know you love them. You’ve told your wife a hundred times how beautiful she is and how much you love her. So why do we feel like we will burst if we don’t share how we feel even though we know that they know!? Because: The delight is incomplete until it is expressed. If you just hold it in then the delight isn’t satisfying, but once it is expressed, the joy can be shared.

This quote is directly related to our worship. Why do we worship? Why do we lift our hands and sing and shout and sometimes feel like dancing before the Lord? Because our delight is incomplete until it is expressed! When you delight in the Lord, when you know Him and the things that’s he’s done, when you see his faithfulness and how he changes lives, you can’t help but express your delight in him. And I’m just asking you to search your heart. Is your worship mundane and cliché? Is it a ritual routine, something you feel like we just have to do? Or is out of an overflow of love in your heart- a deep, sincere awe and expression of truth and affection for your maker?

Jesus’ presence is always with us and he wants to reveal himself to his people, but I wonder if we fully get it, that in order to be satisfied in his presence, a part of it is expressing our love and our delight to Him. Just as a groom can’t help but express his delight in his bride, so we should not contain our delight for our God!!! Let us be fully complete in our worship by expressing our love and our delight, unashamed and undignified.

Weekend Set- August 9th & 10th

Worship Set List- July 13th & 14th

19 Jul

This past weekend was incredible weekend at Hope Fellowship. We got to hear from our very own Worship Pastor, Aubrey McGowan, who spoke such a God honoring message on being wiser with your money as we continued our “Wiser” series through the book of Proverbs. We also had the opportunity to learn a new song on both campuses: Never Once by Matt Redman. I don’t know that I’ve ever seen a song so quickly connect to our people. I really encourage you to not only listen to the music but to listen to the lyrics and really let it penetrate your heart. I believe each of us can sing the words  of this song and look back on times in our lives where without a doubt we saw the faithfulness of God. We love getting to share with you the songs of our heart and we hope you are encouraged by them.
